5 Star Knockout Slot (Microgaming)

5 Star Knockout Slot (Microgaming)Northern Lights Gaming is releasing their third slot machine, and this time around, they have partnered with Microgaming to create 5 Star Knockout.

As with previous releases, this one is a Microgaming exclusive, meaning that only their operators will be able to play it.

I love slots from this developer, and I will share more details about 5 Star Knockout in this unbiased review:

Game Set-Up

For the features, you get to work with a couple of random modifiers, as well as scatters, free spins, and up to 5x random multipliers, among the game's features.

Betting and Prizes

5 Star Knockout, which accepts bets up to $50, is a good choice for those with a bigger budget. Lower-budget players are not forgotten, and a single spin could cost just $0.20.

I believe that the 4,500x top prize that the developers have offered will attract many gamers, especially considering the medium volatility. I'm also quite impressed by the RTP of 96.09% that is present in the game.

5 Star Knockout Slot Features

5 Star Knockout is highly dependent on a Star scatter collection system. This usually requires landing these symbols on the reels and then collecting them at the bottom of the game area, in what is known as special Awards meters.

The Stars progress will not change as long as you don't change the bet level (it's saved in every bet level, so if you change it, you'll have to start over).

You'll get 5 free spins if one of the boards is filled with scatters. For this feature, the icon from the filled board will be removed from the reels.

I got more scatters by filling up another meter, and this went on to remove another symbol, bringing along two more spins. Wins will also be multiplied by a random multiplier that can go as high as 5x.

Bonus Stars is a feature that can assist you in triggering bonus spins. It will randomly give you a few stars to get you started on your symbol collection journey. There will also be Win Spins, which will activate a respin feature, and this adds more spins as long as new wins are formed.

Theme & Design

I didn't have great expectations for 5 Star Knockout. If we go by the theme, it's a classic game, and the graphics didn't appeal to me either.

There are four card suits for the lowest symbols, as well as three types of Sevens (blue, red, silver) and a 5 Stars logo.  The scatter is represented by a Star symbol.

Conclusion

5 Star Knockout will offer an intriguing mix of special features, with the majority of them relying on a collection mechanic that can potentially lead to free spins.

Overall, it's not a great experience, especially when you combine a classic theme with a bland design, not to mention the low payouts of up to 100x during the game's paid spins.

I can only recommend the slot to casual players.
