Beat the Beast: Griffin’s Gold Slot (Thunderkick)
Griffin’s Gold is a new addition to Thunderkick’s Beat the Beast series. The previous titles in this series include Cerberus, a Kraken, Quetzalcoatl, and Mighty Sphinx.
Each of the game comes with a different main creature, and in for this title, Griffin takes centre stage. This is a creature famous in the mythology of Ancient Greece.
Here is my review of this new addition to this Thunderkick series.
Beat the Beast Griffins uses the common 5x3 reels with only 9 active lines. The slot may have a low number of combos but that does not stop it from delivering impressive payouts.
Among its features are wilds, free spins and multipliers.
Betting and Prizes
With Beast: Griffin’s Gold, you only need $0.10 to spin the reels. However, if you have a higher spending budget, the slot will allow you to spend as much as $100 per spin.
The top payouts are quite attractive as the slot has the potential to deliver as much as 22,222x the stake.
Volatility is relatively high, but I’m satisfied with the provided RTP of 96.14%.
Beat the Beast: Griffin’s Gold Slot Features
Griffin’s Gold doesn’t offer a very long list of features, however, the few that are there are enough at helping you get the most out of this slot.
Among the features present is the mixed wild/scatter located in the base game. It appears in the image of a golden Griffin medallion. As a wild, this feature will serve as a replacement symbol. This means that you can use it to form winning combos.
When used as a scatter, this same feature needs to land on reels 3 to 5 reels, which in return trigger up to10 free spins, alongside a 200x the stake prize.
The free spins give you an extra symbol, an additional wild (consisting of a gold bird at the top, with some wreaths at the bottom). When it lands, this wild will contribute to each spin that occurs afterwards.
Armed with a multiplier (could be between 1x and 5x), the wild constantly be on the move, increasing by 1x every time it contributes to a win.
Theme & Design
The slot borrows inspiration from the Griffin, and with it, you will get to enjoy an Ancient Greek amphitheatre, in an open-air space. The game area is decorated with stone columns, with Golden Griffin statues sitting pretty at the top.
Thunderkick has used several symbols that include a Gold Medallion Wild/Scatter, the Griffin, the Multiplier Wild, a Harp, a Gold Griffin Statue, Crossbow, Griffin’s Feather, and the low-value Royals.
Beat the Beast: Griffin’s Gold is a great addition to the series, and personally, I had a lot of fun playing it.
The title offers way better payouts than its predecessors even with its fewer features and betting lines.
It’s definitely a great slot to check out, but from my experience, Beat the Beast Griffins is a suitable free slot for all levels of players.
