Big Bass Bonanza Megaways Slot (Pragmatic Play)
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways is the newest addition to Pragmatic Play’s rich portfolio of slot games. It is the third title in a series that is quickly growing, with its first slot having been launched just a year ago.
The new title is fishing themed, and you will notice an ocean as its backdrop image. Pragmatic Play has used the same awkward visuals as the rest of the games in the series, but luckily at least there are a few areas with notable improvement.
Join me as I take a deeper look at this new release:
It is a 6 reels casino game with as many as 46,656 active ways to win.
For its features I got an opportunity to work with wilds, tumbling reels, free spins, scatters, and several random modifiers.
Betting and Prizes
To place a real money bet, I needed at least $0.20 per spin, and the maximum that I could use on each spin is $100.
One area where Big Bass Bonanza Megaways doesn’t seem to do very well is in the payment. As a Megaways slot machine, I was hoping that the developer would consider a much higher potential, but you only get up to 4,000x the stake.
Nonetheless, the slot offers an impressive RTP of 96.70% which is efficient in tackling the high volatility associated with these types of slots.
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways Slot Features
As usual, Megaways engines are all about a random number of symbols and ways to win. This slot offers the same 6 reels, and can even add four extra icons from the horizontal reel located at the top. However, since it doesn’t get so many symbols on the reels, the much that it can offer are 46,656 ways to win.
To form a winning combo, I needed to land 3+ matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from left to right. What followed was a Tumble mechanic that removed the winning symbols, let's and replaced them with new ones. I love this gaming mechanism because it creates more opportunities to get additional wins.
Then there is a wild symbol and I noticed that it’s a feature that does not come easily. Since the wild will land on the horizontal reel from above, its uses are limited. However, it can still serve as a substitute for regular symbols.
As is always the case, the free spins will come via help from the scatters. With 3 to 5 scatter symbols, Big Bass Bonanza Megaways will reward you with 10 to 20 free spins.
You can retrigger this feature by collecting 4 fishermen as you play. Each batch collected will give you 10 extra spins, and an increasing multiplier.
The game has several modifiers too, and they include a Bazooka modifier (explodes all symbols) and Dynamite (lands fish symbols on the reels).
Theme & Design
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways has a very good design, and I love the ocean-themed design that looks so real, especially when you look at the fish swimming around in the form of symbols.
This list of symbols includes a mix of five Royals (10 to A), a Fisherman, Dragonfly, Float, Fishing Rod, and Tackle Box. There are also added fish, a fishing net (wild), and as well as a scatter.
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways comes with a unique way of doing things. I’m impressed by the fact that the slot does not copy what other mechanics have used.
However, if you are looking for a slot machine with huge payouts, then this may not be a great choice.
