Big City 5s Slot (IGT)
On this classic slot machine by IGT, you will be welcome by the city’s skyscrapers that appear strategically behind the reels. The slot goes by the name Big City 5’s, and the irony is that the theme does not seem to be in touch with the title, but it still appears to be a very good slot game.
Below, I will share my experience playing this retro design slot for real money:
Big City 5’s comes with a 5x3 reels design and up to 20 pay lines. It also has several excellent features that include wilds, some bonus symbols, a bonus pot, and free spins among others.
Betting and Prizes
With as little as $0.20, I was ready for some real money bets. IGT allows a MAX of $200 on each spin that you make.
Big City 5’s didn’t quite impress me with its top payout of 500x the stake. However, it’s a well-balanced slot machine with an RTP of 96%.
Big City 5’s Slot Features
The wild is easy to pick out from the rest of the symbols given its big Wild logo design. I love the help it brings along as it makes the work of forming a winning combination much easier. However, it is important you note that the wild cannot be used to replace the bonus symbols.
Then there is the Bonus Pot, ad with, each regular symbol comes with a special additional prize that comes from its combo if 5 symbols.
With such winning combos, you get a higher value of the Bonus Pot regardless of their size. Occasionally, Wilds may come in to help. To claim this pot, all that you are required to do is get a combo of 5, with no visible wilds on that line.
Another option is the Jackpot Pot that you can claim upon creating a combo of 5 wilds. It comes with a fixed value.
IGT could not leave without giving the slot some free spins. To access them, you need to land the 5-logo feature on 3 to 5 adjacent reels (left to right). This is how I was rewarded with 15-25 free spins. The feature can be retriggered in the same manner, plus you will be rewarded with the same number of extra freebies.
Theme & Design
With the background image, we may get some connection to the big city, but I don’t find it very clear on the reels.
I also find the design style a little dated, and so you will not be dealing with anything modern here.
The lowest paying icons come in the form of Royals (J to A). Then there is the medium pay four-card suit symbols located next to the list. The top symbols are the Triple Bar logo plus the Jackpot logo. Big City 5s comes with a Wild logo and a 5 logo and both serve as feature symbols.
Although it has several interesting features, Big City 5’s does not come with very enjoyable graphics. However, from where I sit, I can say that its biggest undoing is its low pay-out potential that makes it only suitable for casual players.
