Book of Gold: Symbol Choice Slot Review (Playson)

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice SlotFollowing in the footsteps of previous releases like Book of Gold Double Chance and Book of Gold Classic, this developer is back again with a title similar to this series: Book of Gold: Symbol Choice.

What I find quite impressive with this new release is the chance that Playson is giving punters, where you are allowed to select your own special symbol.

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice has the usual 5 reels and 10 active lines.  Although this slot has a high jackpot of 5,000xs ($500,000), it is a highly volatile game that may disappoint many who are aiming to hit this jackpot.  The slot has a number of features like the regular wilds/scatter (these are mixed/merged into one) as well as free spins.

Betting and Prizes

When you click the Bet button, you will be directed on where to select a wager. The cost of bets is within what we see on most slots from this developer, and it ranges between $0.10 and $100.

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice has an impressive paytable. For example, with the Pharaoh symbol, you can get up to 500xs total stake ($50,000) per each active line. Considering that this slot uses some expanding symbols, with its 10 active lines, the potential could be up to 5,000x total stake ($500,000).

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice Slot Features

This slot’s features are not very different from what we have seen on the other book series. However, the only notable difference is in the wild/scatter symbol because, on this slot, Playson offers two.

The symbol that comes in the form of a book is the one that has the honour of serving as a substitute.

Additionally, each time 3 or more Books show up on the reels, you earn 10 free spins. Prior to the start of the feature, you get the opportunity to select a special symbol and this will in return expand on the reel. This is one of the best points on this slot because on most other games, this special symbol is chosen for you and you have no control of it.

Theme & Design

The one place that Playson seems to have gotten it wrong is on the theme of this slot. It is a boring Ancient-Egypt culture theme and the Book is the only feature symbol. For this Book of Ra clones, the design and graphics are all the same which does not excite most gamers.

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice lacks features and modern theme, but the slot stands out with its ability to provide players with a unique option, where you get to choose your own special feature.

I love action-packed slots and there is little thrill with this slot.
