After Chilli Heat in 2018, Pragmatic Play is back with an upgrade, and they have released a game titled, Chilli Heat Megaways.

Chilli Heat Megaways comes with very high volatility and a bigger game area, and I also noticed that the slot offers more ways to win.

Game Set-Up

Chilli Heat Megaways uses 6 reels, and the middle reels can get up to 8 symbols, while 7 go to the others (7-8-8-8-8-7). With this setup, you end up working with 200,704 ways to win.

Feature-wise, the developer has included Free spins bonus, Cascading Reels, Increasing Multiplier, and the Megaways.

Betting and Prizes

I was given the option to select the total amount for the whole round, with the minimum allowed per spin being $0.20, while the maximum is $100.

For the payouts, Chilli Heat Megaways offers a 5,000x jackpot, and IM not quite impressed with such an amount given the slot’s brutal volatility.

The default RTP is 96.50%, but you will need to confirm with your casino as a lower version (95.50% or 94.57%) are also possible.

Chilli Heat Megaways Features

Although Chilli Heat Megaways design doesn’t really wander too far away from the rest of the pack, it doesn’t quite rely on the usual standard setup common with Megaways.

The developer has increased the number of ways to win on this slot, and you can get as many as 200,704., with an extra symbol present on the middle reels.

On each of the 6 reels, you could get 7 symbols, although the horizontal reel from (top of the middle four ones), adds an extra (7-8-8-8-8-7 icons).

Upon forming a winning combination, the Tumble mechanic will be triggered. This mechanic works by removing the winning symbols and replacing them with new ones. It is a very helpful feature, and with it, I landed several wins.

The Chilli Heat logo landing on the 2^nd to the 5^th reel boosts the chances of forming some winning combinations. This is what Pragmatic Play has offered as the wild, and you can also use it as a substitute for regular symbols.

The usual free spins have been replaced with a Respin feature. To activate this, I needed to land the Money symbols (money bag image) 6+ times, in a single spin. I noticed that these Money symbols came with some prizes, and those wins will be carried over to the Respin feature.

The regular symbols will be removed, and only the triggering Money icons will remain. Whenever new Money icons land and get locked, the slot’s respins feature reset back to 3.

Theme & Design

Pragmatic Play has maintained the original theme and most of the original image.

On the list of symbols, we have the Wild (game symbol), images of Mariachi man, Margarita & Lime, Chihuahua Dog, and Hotsauce & the Chilli. There is also a mix of six Royals (9 to A).

Conclusion

Chilli Heat Megaways comes with a version of the Hold & Win respins but with some Megaways mechanism.

It’s a very interesting combination and one that makes this slot a very thrilling one.

However, as a high volatility slot, it’s quite disappointing to see a 5,000x jackpot as the top prize.
