Crystal Golem Slot (Relax Gaming)
Golems are quite prominent in pop culture, appearing in Pokémon and Minecraft in various forms like iron or ice. Surprisingly, the term originated from Jewish folklore, referring to 'shapeless mass' that were chunks of materials, such as clay, brought back to life via the use of sacred words or charms.
Throughout the Middle Ages, golems were regarded as excellent servants, though a little too zealous in their execution of duties. Today, golems are more likely to be composite beings assigned to do mechanical duties that require little or no mental input.
This definition briefly describes the golems in Crystal Golem, a new slot by Print Studios in partnership with Relax Gaming (Silver Bullet programme). Golems are wild in this scenario, which means they have one basic task to do in the base game. However, when free spins are triggered, they are assigned added duties, though nothing too demanding.
Crystal Golem is set in a pastel pink underworld filled with crystals and rock formations that change to the colour blue during free spins.
This is my unbiased review playing this new title:
Game Set-Up
Crystal Golem pays out when three or more matching symbols land adjacently from the leftmost side of the grid. The developers have used a 5 by 3 grid design, with up to 20 fixed lines.
For the features, I interacted with things like the Free spins bonus, Buy Feature, Cascading Reels, Sticky Wilds, and SuperSpinners.
Betting and Prizes
Placing a real money wager will set you back at least $0.20, and up to $100 is allowed on every spin. I love the slot’s potential as it can pay up to 20000xs the stake from a single spin.
The RTP is equally good, and at 96.36%, it is slightly above 96% that we are used to seeing on many modern slots.
The wild feature is one of the available goodies that the developers have given this title. As usual, the wild serves as the substitute for the regular icons, which is a great boost when you want to form winning combinations.
In between the reels, I noticed some small diamond-shaped objects, and a few of them had some with numbers on them. These serve as the SuperSpinners and anytime a winning line crossed an object with a number on it, my payout was multiplied by that number.
There is the bright white glowing crystal icon as well and this is what serves as the scatter. Landing 3, 4, or 5 of these scatters rewarded me with 8, 12, or 16 free Evolution Spins, respectively.
While in the free spins mode, I got some random SuperSpinners that appeared with a green flame. They are known as Charged Spinners.
If you get to land a wild Golem next to a Charged Spinner, it will transform into a wild Golem Stage 2 symbol. In simple terms, the icon will remain on the reels once after participating in a win.
Last but not least is the bonus buy, and you can use it to purchase Evolution Spins at a cost of 100x the bet. This will land at least 3 scatters on the upcoming spin.
Theme and Design
Crystal Golem has several symbols, and these include four low pays and five high. The low pay ones are King, Queen, Jack, and Ace, while better-paying ones are water mushrooms, crystal bats, gold mushrooms, stone snakes, and fire mushrooms.
Conclusion
Crystal Golem is a well-done slot, and it is evident that the team behind this slot took their time to develop a super great title.
However, its medium to high volatility suggests that it is more suitable for professional gamblers.
