Diablo Reels (ELK)
Diablo Reels comes bearing a Day of Dead theme, and it’s the latest release by ELK Studios.
One unique thing that I have noticed with most slots that come with this theme is the use of gorgeous graphics, and Diablo Reels is no exception.
Also, this slot uses one of the most peculiar game layouts, and I will share that with you later on in this review.
For, my experience with this slot, I can say that ELK does not seem to target the beginners, given its complexity and the high risk involved.
Below is my review of Diablo Reels:
Diablo Reels doesn’t come with a very large gaming area, and ELK set this slot on 3x3 reels, with just 5 lines within its main game area. However, during gameplay, the slot can expand to have as many as10 active lines.
A majority of its features are centred on the wild symbols (includes, nudging, regular, with multipliers, and stacked,), however, you may occasionally get some free spins, and respins.
Betting and Prizes
The betting range is quite accommodative, and you can start small, with only $0.20 required to spin the reels.
If you are a high roller, Diablo Reels allows bets of up to $100 per spin.
The rewards are average in size, and the highest that the slot can pay is 2,500x total stake ($250,000). I would have expected much higher payouts considering that the slot is medium-high in volatility, which means significant risk.
RTP is great, and at 96.30%, ELK has done quite well, as the range is within what we see on many modern slots.
Diablo Reels Slot Features
The wild symbol is the most notable herm, and with it, you will get few benefits.
The wild symbol has several duties, and they include acting as a substitute, as well as the jackpot symbol.
Then there is a different version of the wild symbol that has the ability to nudge. It appears in a different background and you will notice an arrow on it. The wok of the arrow is to direct you in the direction that you are supposed to move.
While nudging the reel up, this wild will enable you to get a respin. The multiplier to be allowed on the respin is determined by the position where the wild feature lands. If it’s on the upper set of reels, you will be given either a 5x or 2x multiplier.
Wild Stack Respin is present too, and to activate it, a wild that covers an entire reel must appear. This will enable a trigger to the respin on both sets, which will also come with 10 active lines.
10 free spins are present as well, and you will need to land the scatter symbols on at least three reels, to be able to trigger this feature.
Theme & Design
Although a lot of the happenings on Diablo Reels give it a deep hell connection, the theme draws inspiration from the Mexican Day of Dead.
The theme is quite common, and ELK seems to have gotten it right. The symbols used here are a mix of Wild logos that come in diriment versions. Additional symbols include scatters, diamonds, lucky horseshoes, lucky 7s, bells, Bar logos, green limes, melons, and chillies.
Diablo Reels is a solid choice, but given the low potential payout, and the risk involved, it might not be a good choice for many players.
