Dragon King Legend of The Seas Slot (Red Tiger)
When you see the word 'Dragon' in a slot title, you'll know exactly what kind of game it is. This is where Red Tiger's Dragon King Legend of the Seas excels, as it is a true Asian-style game.
Even though the theme and presentation of Dragon King Legend of the Seas are predictable, there are other aspects of the game that could excite players who enjoy this genre, such as the decent bonus features that appear when free spins are triggered.
I had an opportunity to spin the reels of this new title for real money, and here is my unbiased review:
Game Set-Up
Dragon King Legend of the Seas is a 5x3 slot title, with just 10-pay lines. I love the well-balanced combination of cool blue, wavy grey patterns, plus the golden trim.
Although Dragon King Legend of the Seas uses an Asian style, it is not as loud as is often the case with many slots in this genre.
Feature-wise, Red Tiger has gone with Free spins bonus, Expanding Wilds, Multiplier Wilds, and Stacked Symbols.
Betting and Prizes
The slot allows a betting range of between $0.10 and $10 per spin. I’m quite impressed by its 96% RTP which is a great improvement considering that this developer is known for providing much lower RTP’s.
Volatility is pretty high though, and the game’s max win of 1800xs the stake is not all that attractive.
Dragon King Legend of the Seas Features
Players are aided in the bonus round by walking Dragon Wilds and a Gong feature, and it is during this phase that Dragon King Legend of the Seas may become quite exciting.
Dragon Spins scatter symbols emerge on all reels, and landing at least 3 of them anywhere on the reels rewarded me with 9 Dragon Spins. Additional scatters reward +3 spins each, up to a maximum of 15 at the start. During Dragon Spins, I got a completely stacked Dragon Wild that I used to replace all the regular icons.
During Dragon Spins, I got a completely stacked Dragon Wild that I used to replace all the regular icons.
Additionally, you receive a win multiplier for the Dragon Wild but this largely depends on the number of triggering scatters available; 3, 4, or 5 scatters offer an initial win multiplier of x2, x3, or x5.
As part of the Gong feature, every Dragon Spins symbol that lands in the bonus round delivers either additional free spins or multiplies the Dragon Wild Multiplier.
Players can get up to eight more spins or a multiplier boost of up to +8. Landing multiple scatter icons on a single spin gave me the same increase.
Theme and Design
The pay-table has some very interesting icons, among them crabs in different colours of gold, blue, bronze, and silver. The bottom value icons are the J-A symbols.
Conclusion
Players looking for a taste of Asian gaming should find plenty to enjoy in Dragon King Legend of the Seas, though perhaps not in the base game. Because the symbol values are so low in a ten-pay line slot, they don't get very far on their own.
It's fairly stunning for what it is, and the variety of crabs provides an interesting contrast to the frogs and koi. However, there remains a knock-off vibe, as the visuals and sounds remain somewhat generic, although of high quality.
The slot's low payout potential, coupled with high volatility makes it suitable for casual players.
