Gold Megaways Slot (Big Time Gaming)

Gold Megaways Slot (Big Time Gaming)Gold Megaways is not very new, and BTG has used it as the better option/upgrade for the 2014 release by the name, Gold.

Both of these games borrow from the song from Spandau Ballet, a popular song in the 80s.

One thing that I noticed with this slot is its heavy reliance on gold for its design. However, I must admit that the Megaways version looks way too better than the older release, and I will share my experience playing this slot for real money:

Game Set-Up

As usual with the Megaways, 6 reels are what has gone into Gold Megaways. It also consists of up to 1,000,000 ways to win (each reel can get up to 10 symbols).

Features here include the usual wilds, free spins, 3x multipliers, the Megaways Wheel, as well as the scatter symbols.

Betting and Prizes

BTG is the brains behind the Megaways concept, and they did an excellent job with the Gold Megaways. I’m happy with the fact that this slot is easily accessible with a betting range of between $0.05 and $20 per spin.

Due to the high potential of the game, the developer has given it a cap of 20, 200x the stake, which is still way better than the 12,500x include in the original release. The RTP is also good, and at 96.42% it is great for the Megaways version.

However, it is a high volatility slot which makes it a little risky to play.

Gold Megaways Features

For the regular part, you get 2 to 7 symbols on each reel, however, with the help of the free spins, you can get up to 10 symbols on each reel. This is how you end up with 1,000,000 ways to win.

A combo will require at least 3 matching symbols, and these must also be on adjacent reels, running from left to right.

Cascading reels are present and love how they work by triggering new wins. As usual with the cascades, winning symbols are removed and replaced with new ones. The process goes on and on until there are no more wins.

4 of the 6 middle reels get the wild symbols, and as usual, they are what I used to replace the regular symbols, but not the scatter. It is also possible to have the wild land accompanied by multipliers. I love this because it boosts the wins by up to 3x.

I was fortunate enough to land 3 to 6 scatters, and this is how I was rewarded with 12 to 24 free spins. The scatter comes in the image of the developer’s logo.

Then there are the Expanding Symbols that land and once they transform into 2 symbol positions, they allow the reels to expand. This way, the reels rea expanded, and it is at this point that you get the10 symbols on each (1,000,000 ways to win).

Additionally, Big Time Gaming has several ways to hit the Free Spins, and one allows the use of the existing wins, and this is how they pay up to 70x the stake from a lucky round.

The other way is by triggering when win hit between 20x -70x the used take.

Theme & Design

Gold Megaways gives all the gold that we may be looking for. Just like what the developer did with the original, this new title has a great design, and I love the surrounding environment that is characterised by beautiful decorations.

The Royals (9 to A) are used to represent the low-value icons. The premium icons include images of cars, rings, credit cards, and watches. The briefcase is the wild, while the BTG emblem serves as a scatter.

Conclusion

Gold Megaways appears a tad better than the original. However, I was quick to note a few improvements, especially in the features, payout, and RTP.

It’s a highly volatile game, and real money gamers should approach it with caution.
