Game description

Links of Ra (Microgaming)

Links of Ra (Microgaming)The developers behind this slot are Slingshot Studios and Microgaming, and it is the latest game to use the Link & Win, a version of the common streak respins.

Links of Ra is the title of the game that features an Ancient Egypt theme. It offers very attractive features and payouts, and here is my experience playing it for real money:

Game Set-Up

Links of Ra is giving us 5x4 reels with a total of 40 active lines. For the features, we get to work with things like stacked symbols, wilds, scatters, plus free spins, not to forget the Link & Win respins.

Betting and Prizes

With a minimum of $0.20, I was proud to spin the slot for real money. If your budget allows, you can place bets of up to $20 per spin.

With the help of some of the features, the slot can pay as much as 25,000x the stake, from one spin. This translates to $500,000 in cash, which is pretty good when compared to the rewards that we have seen in the latest Microgaming releases (a majority are capped at $250,000).

Any game with such high payout potential is likely going to be high in volatility, and this is the case with Links of Ra. From my experience with the title, I can give it a high volatility rating, but things are cooled down a little bit by the fair RTP of 96.20% that Microgaming has given it.

Links of Ra Slot Features

The wilds are among the features inside here, and they come in handy when you want to get more chances of forming winning combinations.

These symbols can help out with other wins, but they can also pay directly if they form combinations by themselves. If that happens, they pay 25x the stake for a combo of five.

Among the other major features that are available in Links of Ra, you will find that the Power Stacks can have a serious impact on your spins when it triggers. This random feature will give you regular symbols that are super stacked, so the odds of those combinations forming are much higher.

There are free spins as well, and you get 15 of them via 3 scatters that appear at the same time. The 2x multiplier which boosts all wins will give you a major advantage compared with the base game.

The final major feature that you get from this slot, is called Link & Win, and it’s the name that they’ve given a feature that we’ve seen in a lot of other games, typically under the name Hold & Win.

To get Link & Win triggered, you’re going to need the Money symbols in at least 6 positions at the same time. These act as scatters, and they give you 3 respins initially, with the possibility to reset the number whenever new scatters land.

It’s a regular version of the feature, with prizes coming from each coin, and with additional fixed jackpots that can be delivered through special coins.

Though typically you can claim a prize of up to 2,500x the stake from the best coin that the feature has to offer, this goes up to 5,000x if you get it during free spins. The regular coins only pay up to 15x the stake (30x during free spins).

Theme & Design

It is clear that Links of Ra was inspired by Ancient Egypt, and I love the great design that the developers have considered.

For the lowest paying icons, we have a mix of gemstones that come in four colours, while the premium ones include images of Khnum, Horus, Anubis, Sobek, and Bastet. Wilds and scatters serve as feature icons.

Conclusion

Links of Ra is an Okay game but it is not a very original slot. However, it offers an excellent top jackpot, great and solid features, plus good graphics that make it a suitable choice for all levels of players.
