Lucky Wood Slot (EGT)
On the Cascading waterfall that is characterised by moss-filled rocks, lies beautiful reels that are part of Lucky Wood, a slot that was developed by EGT.
The weekend after EGT released the game into the market, I gave it a try, and here is my unbiased review:
Lucky Wood uses a 5 reels setup, and the game offers up to 243 pay lines/ways.
Among its features are Cascading Reels, Scatter Pays, Gamble feature, Stacked Wilds, Stacked Symbols, and Wilds among others.
I was surprised to see that the developer has not included the free spins, however, this has been replaced by the Lucky Wood jackpot.
Betting and Prizes
Lucky Wood allows bets ranging at between $0.20 and $20 per spin. It’s an ideal game for players who are on a tight budget, or those that are a little cautious with spending.
For the top prize, it is possible to walk away with a Max Win of 750x the stake, while the RTP is 95.98%.
This may look like a low payout, but since it’s a low-medium volatility game, it is possible to make frequent small wins over a certain period.
Lucky Wood Features
On the slot, you will come across stacks of wilds, and scatter wins. This helps in getting multiple cascades within a row.
The wild symbol is represented by the small forest house, and you are likely going to get it on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels.
Just like I have experienced on other slots, the wild symbol will also act a substitute for the regular symbols, but not the scatter.
The Well symbol is the icon that represents the scatter. With 3, 4 or 5 such scatters landing on the reels, a reward of 100, 1,000 or 10,000 coins, respectively will land your way.
For this title, EGT has used Toppling Reels (Cascading Reels or Avalanche Reels), and with this mechanism, winning symbols will be removed, and replaced with new ones.
With its 50/50 Gamble feature, you get to make a correct guess on the correct colour, (either red or black). If your guess is correct, the slot will double your winnings. Sadly, a wrong guess will see you lose everything.
The Jackpot triggers randomly once a spin comes to an end.
At this point, you will be redirected to a screen that is filled with up to 12 face-down cards.
Here, you are required to select 3 matching cards, and they will determine the type of progressive jackpot that you win, from the 4 versions available.
3 spades will reward you with the highest jackpot.
Theme and Design
It’s a video game that features some interesting themes like Nature, Berries, Forest, and even more.
In the background is a lush forest that is covered in mushrooms, berries, hazelnuts, pine cones, and ladybugs. There is a butterfly too, and this is the icon that pays the most.
EGT has gone with an old-school design for Lucky Wood, and it looks like they got deep inspiration from the physical slot machines.
I loved the scenic beauty that is as a result of the lush forest. Although the progressive jackpots give the slot a lot of potentials, the low RTP works against it.
I can only recommend Lucky Wood to casual players.
