Mystic Hive (Betsoft)

This is one of Betsoft releases in 2020; Mystic Hive comes to you with a bee/honey theme, and this is in addition to their previous release known as The Hive.  

However, this one has its own uniqueness, and we can see that Betsoft has considered a hexagonal setup that also uses the Cluster Pays system.

After playing this slot for a couple of days, below is my review:

Game Set-Up

The grid is a 3-4-5-4-3 hexagonal grid. All the lines pay both ways from left-to-right and right-to-left. Mystic Hive offers up to 30 Betways.

This slot has several features including Expanding Wilds, Spreading Wilds, a Win Multiplier, and many more. The game has a free spins bonus game and this is usually where you can win the big money.

Betting and Prizes

To place a wager, you will need a minimum of $ 0.10 per spin. The highest amount that Befsoft allows for this slot is $90 per spin.

However, I’m not happy with the highest reward that the developer offers here, as the maximum payout is only 243 x your bet.

The RTP (Return to Player) for Mystic Hive is 96.13%. This is a good offer for a slot with such high variance.

Mystic Hive Slot Features

The use of a hexagonal setup does not enable a slot to offer ways to wins.  This means that you will be required to form winning combinations using other means.

Cluster Pays system is what Betsoft has offered for Mystic Hive. With this mechanic, you will need to form groups of matching symbols (clusters), and they are the ones that will enable you to form wins. The symbols should be connected to one another.

One of the features available on this game is the Wild Honey Jar. It’s a very useful feature that you can use on any of the groups that you manage to form.

This is a very common feature on slot machines and particularly those that use the Clusters mechanic.

Theme & Design

Just as the title suggests, Mystic Hive uses a bee/honey as its theme.  Betsoft is already experienced with this kind of a theme, having previously released a slot called The Hive.

The action takes place in a mystical forest, and your peace will be disrupted by the many fireflies moving around.

It’s a sweet-affair, and the yellow Royals come dripping some honey. Additional symbols present on this slot include gemstones that are different in colours (blue, red, purple, and green), Honey jars (wild), as well as toadstools.

Conclusion

Betsoft has done a great job here, and this looks like a series that they plan to continue working on in the coming years.

Although everything on this slot is well- designed, the top payouts are a bit disappointing; which makes the game less attractive to high rollers.
