Rise of Maya Slot Review (NetEnt)
NetEnt is always releasing new slots into the market, and their latest one goes by the name Rise of Maya.
This slot has a Mayan connection, a theme that is rapidly growing in popularity. Being a development by NetEnt, Rise of Maya comes with some of the best features and graphics.
I tried out this slot and here is my personal review:
The slot is set on 5 reels with a total of 10 active lines. Features are several here, and they include re-spins, free spins, scatters, and expanding and regular wilds, among others.
I was quite satisfied with the slot’s RTP which currently stands at 96.42%. The maximum payout that Rise of Maya offers is 2,500xs total stake.
Betting and Prizes
Betting on the Rise of Maya varies, but the least that you can wager per spin is $0.10. The maximum bet amount allowed is $150.
Allowing you to wager on 10 lines, the game typically goes from $0.10 to $75, but an extra bet will allow for the range to extend from $0.20 to $150 per round.
I was very surprised to see that NetEnt offers a high payout of 2,500x total stake.
This is very impressive given that NetEnt is known to offer very low payouts (about 500xs), whereas, the majority of their games are low in volatility.
Rise of Maya Slot Features
The major focus on the Rise of Maya is the wild symbol. Actually, this slot game has a total of four wilds.
These four are the stacked Serpent, two expanding wilds and a regular Serpent.
All four can be used as substitutes, but they differ in the way they get onto the reels. Expanding wilds move either up or down and they cover the whole reel.
Regular wilds are normally the common ones while stacked wilds come in handy when playing for the free games.
Each time I managed to get 3 or more wilds or scatters on the slot’s reels, I was rewarded with 15 free games.
Scatter symbols are triggered randomly but only during the losing rounds.
Free spins are easier to get because each time I placed double wagers, it boosted my odds of landing the wilds or scatters.
With two scatter or wilds, I was able to trigger the slot’s re-spins.
Theme & Design
Personally, I did not like the graphics of this Mayan themed game. The game lacks in entertainment, and I believe being a leader in the industry, NetEnt should have done better.
Visuals aren’t as fun to look at, and they do not compare to the other releases from this developer.
Some of the symbols on the Rise of Maya include Royals (have a Mayan design), and five different types of masks but all have the same inspiration.
Rise of Maya is not one of the best releases by NetEnt. The payments are great but the graphics and general “feel” isn’t that great. However, if you are looking for a game with decent profits, this slot is a good choice.
