Serengeti Kings Slot Review (NetEnt)

Serengeti Kings is the latest from NetEnt. The slot is a Safari themed game that draws a lot of its inspiration from Africa’s Serengeti plains.  

Being a slot from a prominent developer, I had to try it out the slot and share my personal review:

My first look was at the features as this is what makes or breaks a slot game. Serengeti Kings has a couple of cool features but they are not as impressive as I had expected.

The slot machine is built on 5x4 reels. There are a total of 26 lines on it, and I find that number to be on the lower side considering the large game area.  

Although Serengeti Kings has an excellent RTP of 96.2%, its payout is not quite impressive as the highest that you can get is 50xs per single combination of wilds. However, for a full screen of wilds, payments can go to as much as 1,300xs.  

Some of the game features include the wild, free spins (two types), multipliers as well as scatters.

Betting and Prizes

Serengeti Kings offers very reasonable betting prizes. To place a wager, you will need between $0.10 and $100 per spin.

There is a Buy Feature option that offers you three variants. This is equivalent to landing 3 to 5 scatters on the slot’s reels.

Being the slot’s top paying symbol, the wild award wins of 50xs the stake. This is actually for each line that the symbol fully covers. 

For the multipliers, the much you can get with them is 5 xs.

Although the RTP is quite good, it is important to note that Serengeti Kings comes with very high volatility.

Serengeti Kings Slot Features

Just like is the case with most other slots, Serengeti Kings uses the wild symbol which also acts as a replacement symbol.  With the wild, you can form winning combinations and if you are lucky to cover the entire wild with the wild, you will be awarded even higher prizes.

To trigger the slot’s free spins, you will be required to land at least 3 scatters. This will reward you with 12 free spins.

Serengeti Kings comes with two game modes, these are the Lion Spins (correspond to the day mode), and the other version is the night mode (awards you the Panther Spins). With each mode, there are 12 rounds and this is where you get to collect the lions and panthers into the slot’s special meters.

Theme & Design

Serengeti Kings has excellent graphics, and this works well with the safari-inspired theme that is a popular backstory in modern slots.

NetEnt has done really well with the design of the slot’s high-value symbols. However, I don’t firm the animal prints on the low-value symbol very interesting.

Serengeti Kings has a background that is set on a cartoon-style safari. There is a clear view of Africa and I must admit that they did quite well with the graphics here.

Conclusion

Serengeti Kings seems to have gotten it right in all areas but the payments. The RTP is great, the design and graphics are also very eye-catching. However, the payouts are not something that you would expect from a prominent developer like NetEnt.
