Play n GO is an excellent game designer, and the developer does not disappoint when it comes to quality.

Shimmering Woods joins their long list of slot machines, and as usual, it comes with its own unique graphics and features.

The title borrows inspiration from the diamonds, which could also have something to do with its title.

After playing the game severally, I’m here to share my most authentic, and non-biased review:

Game Set-Up

Shimmering Woods uses a major feature called, the Splitting Symbols. It is set on the usual 5x3  reels design and up to 243 ways to win are present.

However, as you advance in the game, there is a possibility to get as many as 7,776 ways. Other features on this title include Cascading Reels, Wilds, Expanding Reels, Stacked Symbols, and Increasing Multipliers among others.

Betting and Prizes

There is a provided table from where you can select the wagers.

Depending on how much you want to spend, each spin can cost between $0.20, and $100.

Since the game offers many ways through which you can win, high payouts are possible, and you can get as much as 25,000x the stake, per spin.

For the RTP, I’m happy with the 96.20% that Play n GO has given this title.

Shimmering Woods Slot Features

Wild features are among the symbols present in this game. You can use this feature anywhere it lands as long as it is possible to form a win with their help.

The main feature that Play n GO has included in this title is the Shimmering Woods. In other games, you may see words like Splitting Symbols but works the same way.

You are guaranteed to get it in each round, and its duty involves picking a single type of symbol and splitting it. This way, you end up with 2 symbols from the initial 1.

This is how symbols in the game increase: this will also lead to more ways to win.

Cascading Reels are also present, and each time you form a win, they will remove the winning symbol, and replace them with a new batch. This also increases the number of wins

Apart from the symbol removal, cascades have another duty which is boosting the round’s multiplier.

Then there are the free spins that will come via the scatter (Shimmer) symbols. To trigger the free spins, between 3 to 6 scatters (these can also split) must be present.

If done successfully, you will receive between 10 and 19 free spins. The feature can retrigger to bring in an additional 3 to 12 spins.

Theme & Design

The background plays host to an enchanted forest, with Shimmering Woods nearby.

I love seeing the beautiful trees, and mushrooms, plus the crystals that are present as part of the background image.

The design is great, but m not very impressed with the present symbols.

Royals are among these symbols, and others include different coloured gemstones (red, blue, and diamonds). Wilds and scatters also make part of the line-up.

Conclusion

Shimmering Woods is a great slot machine, and an exciting fun option, especially if you are looking for a high payout.

The features are superb, and so is the RTP, and I can recommend it to all levels of players.
