Spring Tails is one of the most volatile slot games that I have seen in the recent past.

However, the developer has used pretty graphics and high payouts that go hand in hand with its high volatility.

The high rewards match the risk involved in playing this slot machine.  For this slot, Betsoft has announced an RTP of 95.84%, but I would have loved to see more than 96% due to its high volatility.

To get the impressive returns of this slot game, you need the assistance of the wild feature.  This feature comes in the image of the Lucky Rat. Most of the time, you will find the wilds on the 2, ^nd3 ^rd and the 4^th reel.

The best part is that every single wild that forms part of a combo gets the random multiplier.  This multiplier varies, but it is 3x, 4x or even 5x.  Additionally, the multipliers can combine, which boosts your winnings to as much as 60xs.

The middle three reels present the scatter (Golden Key) to you. After I managed to land it on the reels, I was awarded 12 free spins. Unfortunately, I was not able to retrigger the free spins though.

Theme & Design

Spring Tails takes the Year of the Rat as its source of inspiration.  A Lucky Rat is what Betsoft has used as the slot’s main feature symbol. There is also the wild, a scatter (Golden Key).

Other symbols include Gold Ingots, Gemstones, Cheese, Pearls, Rice, Peanuts, and the Royals that represent the low-value symbols.

I like the pretty design that uses cartoon-style graphics and this is a big plus to the developer.

Conclusion

Spring Tails is one of the best developments from Betsoft that I have seen in a long time. The slot has massive potential, and its top payout of 300,000x makes it very attractive to players.

However, although the slot appears quite cheap to play, it is not for the casual player since its high volatility comes with a huge risk to your funds.
