Once again, we get a slot with an Ancient Egypt theme this time from NoLimit City, and it goes by the title Tomb of Akhenaten.

Although this is a common theme, the developer has added some uniqueness to it by placing the focus on a ruler, a pharaoh called Akhenaten.

Not many developers have thought of this concept, and it breaks the monotony that comes with this already overused theme.

I was attracted by this uniqueness and after playing Tomb of Akhenaten Slot for a couple of days, here is my review:

Tomb of Akhenaten uses a 5x3 reels setup, with up to 243 ways to win.  For the features, you will get scatters, Explorer and Pyramid Wilds, Free Spins (have multipliers), and Sticky Win Spins.

Betting and Prizes

The slot’s betting range ranges at between $0.10 and $100 per spin.

I’m quite impressed with the top payouts that NoLimit City has given Tomb of Akhenaten, and with the help of some of the features, you can take home as much as 26,261x the stake, from a single spin.

Such high payouts are usually accompanied by very high volatility, and although this title is quite risky, it offers a decent RTP of 96.09%.

NoLimit City has included two versions of the wild feature, and you can use both as substitutes. It really doesn’t matter how they land on the reels.

My favourite feature is the Sticky Win Spins, and you will trigger this by forming a combo. The feature relies heavily on the trigger on respins, which enables it to boost the game area by adding more rows.

The feature increases the ways to win as well, which changes the slot to a 5x4 reels with 1024 ways and finally to 5x5 reels with 3,125 ways to win.

The expansions will pave way for the Pyramid Wilds (not guaranteed), and this will be determined by special meters that appear at the top.

To get some extra wilds, you will need to convert the symbols located on top of the pyramid. The wilds already available get a multiplier boost.

Initially, you will get 8 free spins with the help of 3 scatters. With each Sticky Win feature triggered, the multiplier will increase by 1x.

Theme & Design

Tomb of Akhenaten uses a common theme, and this is the Ancient Egyptian deities.

For the images, you get Akhenaten (works as the bonus symbol), Pyramids and a Female Explorer (the game’s wild). Other symbols include images of Bastet, Sobek, Ra, Anubis, and Thoth.

Royals are there to represent low-value symbols.

Conclusion

Tomb of Akhenaten is one great surprise. I’m must confess that I’m not a fan of this genre of slots, but with this title, I was completely blown away.

NoLimit City has given this title excellent features, and so are the graphics as well as the top payout.

It’s an ideal game for all levels of players, but you need to be careful with its high volatility.
