Wild Catch Slot Game (Microgaming)

Microgaming has partnered with Tormcraft Studios to create a 2020 release titled Wild Catch. This is a sequel of a previous game from them and a sequel to an older game of theirs.

I spent some time playing this game, and below is my review:

Game Set-Up

Wild Catch has quite a big gaming area, and on its 5X5 reels, you will also get 50 active lines. The game rewards are excellent, but this is also accompanied by high volatility.

I liked the features on this slot, and my favourite includes the Fixed Jackpots, Splashing Wilds, Free Spins (these come with a Trail Multipliers that can go up to 25x), and the Growing Wilds.

Betting and Prizes

On Wild Catch, Microgaming allows bets of between $0.20 and $20 per spin. Since 20 coins are in use, the 20 available lines can each get between $0.01 and $1.

The slot offers very high rewards, and the top payout is 9000x the stake. However, you will need the help of the Multiplier Trail (up to 25x) to get to that level.

A Wild Jackpot that is worth as much as 2,000x the stake is also present. This is a fixed payout, and you can get it by collecting wilds during free spins.

The RTP of 96.30% that Microgaming offers for Wild Catch is within the acceptable level.

Wild Catch Slot Features

Wilds are quite common on many modern slots, and they are present here as well. They are like the workhorse of games, and their work includes a constant supply of wins, whether big or small.

In addition to using the wild as a substitute on this game, you can also use it to trigger a special feature, which will enable it to get a guaranteed win.

The slot’s Splashing Wild appears randomly, and you can trigger it to get three wild reels. This happens within the middle of the game area, and the result is a winning spin of considerable value. This is because the wins will be from all the 50 lines, and this will happen simultaneously.

Wild Catch also comes with three versions of the free spins.  The first version is the Crystal Lake that will initially deliver 15 spins, and up to 10x Multiplier Trail.

However, when you manage to do this 5 times, you will be at a position to unlock the second version which is called the Emerald Creek. This will deliver 10 spins, and up to 15x Multiplier Trail.

After you spin for 10 times, you will be able to move to the third and final version of the free spins. This version includes 5 rounds and up to 25x multipliers. It is also the most volatile stage of the game.

All three versions come with a Rolling Reels mechanic, in addition to a feature called Growing Wilds.

Theme & Design

Wild Catch is a Fishing themed slot game, and I’m quite impressed with how Micro gaming was able to pull that.

I love the background mountain lake image that appears on this slot, and seeing fly fish icons completes the whole fishing concept.

Other images include men and women showing off their catch, while others are holding baits. The slot also comes with feature symbols that have logos as well.

If you are a fan of nature, this is an excellent slot game to play. However, due to its high volatility, I can only recommend it to players already experienced with highly volatile games.
