Hellcatraz Slot (Relax Gaming)
Once in a while, and old design for a slot game isn’t all that bad after all, and this is what we are getting from Hellcatraz.
For this title, Relax Gaming has borrowed inspiration from the arcade games that were common in the 80s.
It is a slot machine with extreme volatility, but also with big potential, and I will share my experience with it here:
Game Set-Up
Hellcatraz uses a 6x6 reels setup, with up to 46,656 pay lines.
Features include mystery symbols, wilds, collected keys, and Super Free Spins.
Betting and Prizes
The slot gives you a betting range of between $0.20 and $20 per spin.
The Super Free Spins boost the slot’s potential in a huge way, and with them, you can enjoy wins as high as 51,840x the stake. This is from just one spin.
Its high volatility makes it very risky, but Relax Gaming has given it a decent RTP of 96.46% during the regular spins. If you purchase the bonus feature, the RTP will increase to 96.88%.
Hellcatraz Slot Features
On its 6x6 reels, Hellcatraz forms combos using 3+ symbols. These must land from left to right, and on consecutive reels.
With its cascading reels mechanics, the winning symbols will be removed, and new ones form. This gives ways for extra wins.
Hellcatraz gives you the option to play in either a Mixed or Lockdown Mode, and each one has its own level of volatility.
The wild symbol comes in the W logo, and just like it happens on other slots, you can use it to substitute the regular symbols.
Mystery symbols are available, although they will not offer immediate help. They act as blocker symbols on the cascades.
Keys form part of the slot’s regular symbols, and they will deliver 1 to 10 keys to a special meter. You aim to reach 2,000 keys, as this is the only way to trigger the Super Free Spins.
In this mode, cascades are not required, and so, the mystery symbols will be used pretty quickly.
Theme & Design
Hellcatraz uses an Alcatraz theme, and the main characters on the game are a prison guard and a mobster.
Additional symbols include badges, sharks, handcuffs and low-value card suits (4).
Scatters and wilds form part of the mystery symbols.
Relax Gaming uses an 8-bit style-design, and I love the retro and charming graphics that bring back a lot of memories.
Conclusion
Hellcatraz is quite interesting, and I enjoying a wonderful gaming experience with it. Although the developer has used retro graphics, several modern features that are included give it a polished look.
Its a great title for everyone, but you need to be extra careful with its high volatility.
